Mural Restoration

The longer a project sits on my wishlist, the more satisfying it is to complete. For years I’d driven past the words “buffet” and “lunch” painted on the facade of the historical building that is occupied by Aubree’s Pizzeria. Though the painted words had stood the test of time, they had last been painted in the late 90’s/early 2000’s, they had lost their luster and could use a fresh manicure.

The chipping paint, and slightly wonky lettering were endearing but the weather had taken its toll over the years. The thing about working in a historical district is that any and all changes must be approved through the historical society. In order to stay true to the original design, the refresh of this mural was intended to be identical to the original work. With a few tiny touch ups that only someone as invested in the Aubree’s facade would fully appreciate, that was A okay with me, perfect even.
